Background
Valeria Mapelli graduated as PhD in Industrial Biotechnology in 2006 at the University of Milan-Bicocca, Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences. From 2007 to 2015 she worked as researcher at the Danish Technical University, Center for Microbial Biotechnology (Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark) and at Chalmers University of Technology, Division of Industrial Biotechnology (Gothenburg, Sweden). In 2016, she received the title of Docent in Bioscience from Chalmers University of Technology. From 2015 to 2022 she was employed in the R&D Department of the company Sacco Srl, where she worked as senior researcher in the field of microbial strain development and bioprocess development.
Since March 2022 Valeria Mapelli is Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences in the field of Fermentation Technology and Industrial Microbiology.
