Abstract

Spatial -omics is a rapidly emerging field aimed at obtaining spatial information about any omics data. These techniques are important for studying normal development but also to understand disease pathology and for translational research. Fluorescence is used for spatial mapping of gene expression, RNA FISH, as well as localization of proteins, immunofluorescence.
In this seminar, we will present two different approaches to cyclic imaging of immunofluorescence of proteins that are currently being utilized in our laboratories: IBEX, suited for fresh frozen tissues (achieving up to 38-plex), and MILAN, designed for FFPE human samples (achieving up to 30-plex).
We will also introduce a technique to detect in situ multiple RNA molecules at the single cell resolution, In situ sequencing, that we plan to set up in our laboratories.
