Seminario - Biotecnologie e Bioscienze - giovedì 21 settembre, 2023, ore 16:30, edificio BIOS, aula U3-07 / Webex

Abstract

Since the term “DNA repair” was introduced almost sixty years ago, several aspects of the DNA damage response (DDR) have been identified and detailed. This knowledge has led to a deeper understanding of how a fundamental cellular process works and to the development of DDR‐targeting therapies, but many aspects of the DDR are still puzzling. Every year new players are identified, including RNAs, RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) and processes like transcription and liquid‐liquid phase separation. In this seminar I will present our findings on a specific family of RBPs, the FET proteins, and I will go through the approaches that we use in the lab to study their role in the DDR.
