Premio Giovanni Magni is a prestigious award established by Fondazione Adriano Buzzati-Traverso to honor the memory of Professor Giovanni Magni. Its purpose is to recognize the best article paper in the field of genetics, genomics and molecular biology of microorganisms authored by an Italian researcher working in an Italian laboratory and published in an international journal.
Among all participants, our colleague Erika Casari ( Longhese’s Lab ) with her recent paper “Dpb4 promotes resection of DNA double-strand breaks and checkpoint activation by acting in two different protein complexes” (Nature Communications, August 6th, 2021, DOI: 10.1038/s41467-021-25090-9 ), which sheds light on the biological role of Saccharomyces cerevisiae histone fold protein Dpb4 in DNA double-strand breaks, was awarded first place! A remarkably important success, achieved thanks to her hard work during the doctorate period, here, at University of Milan Bicocca. Tecnologie Convergenti per i Sistemi Biomolecolari (TeCSBi)
Congratulations, Erika! We are very proud of you!
