Good morning! Today we would like to present to you the Spring Meetings, a brand-new cycle of meetings in which our 1st and 2nd year PhD students will present their projects and 3rd year students will become chairpersons for one day!
Starting on Wednesday, March 16th, these meetings will be held periodically and will discuss about two main topics: Health & Biomedicine and Green & Industrial Biotechnologies. We will start talking about some hot topics for Biomedicine with studies on cancer and how to better understand and fight this disease.
The first meeting will have Elisa Dama (Vescovi’s Lab) and Giulia De Simone as 1st year representatives and they will briefly explain their PhD project. Elisa will talk about the “Development of diagnostic kits for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC)” while Giulia about the “Identification of immunometabolic markers in Tumor-associated Macrophages: the role of Mass Spectrometry-based omics”.
Giacomo Ducci (Sacco’s Lab) and Federica Barbugian (Russo’s Lab) are 2nd year students who will give us insights on some useful techniques they learnt and used. Giacomo is going to talk about how to characterise and evaluate the tumour aggressiveness in cancer cell lines. Federica will tell us how to apply microfluidic devices for glioblastoma study with a focus on the actual status and future perspectives.
For this 1st meeting there will be two chairwomen: Lucia Morelli (Prosperi’s Lab) and Roberta Torinesi (Vai’s Lab – Orlandi’s Lab ) who will for sure valorise the work of our colleagues.
These meetings will start on Wednesday, March 16th, in room U3-05 at 14.30.
