Galatea Bio Tech

Galatea Bio Tech is an innovative start-up active in the field of Industrial Biotechnology (Assobiotec Naturalmente Biotec) and Green Chemistry. It was established in 2013 as a university spin-off whose members are the University of Milan Bicocca, three professors of Industrial Biotechnology and Physics of Matter of the same University and an industrial manager.

SYSBIO - Systems Biology Centre

With a focus on metabolomics, Metabolic Flux Analysis and modeling, it operates thanks to an agreement between CNR and the University of Milano-Bicocca (UNIMIB), in particular between two CNR institutes, the Institute of Bioimaging and Molecular Physiology (IBFM) of Segrate (MI) and the Institute of Systems Analysis and Informatics (IASI) of Rome, and two departments of UNIMIB, the Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences (BTBS) and the Department of Systems Informatics and Communication (DISCo). The Centre has been operating since 2012 and has developed an intense research and training activity.

BBC – Bicocca Biotechnicum Center

It is an infrastructure for research and transfer of biotechnological processes located within the Department and active in the development of microbial strains of industrial interest, in fermentation and bioconversion processes for the production of proteins, metabolites and enzymes. The vocation of BBC is therefore focused on technology transfer in the field of industrial biotechnology.

Interdepartmental microscopy platform

The Interdepartmental Microscopy Platform aims to bring together under a single structure the interdepartmental services of optical and electronic microscopy. An electronic microscopy service has been active at the University of Milan Bicocca since 2004 and in 2007 it became part of the Microscopy Platform.

Interdepartmental mass spectrometry platform

A mass spectrometry platform for the analysis of small and large molecules from purified samples or complex matrices for quantification, structural characterization and homic studies with very high resolution.
