Each cell in our body receives 105 damages in its DNA everyday. For this reason, genomes can undergo different types of alterations that can trigger genome instability, a hallmark of cancer, ageing and genetic diseases. Thus, understanding the mechanisms preserving genome integrity is of key importance for deciphering important physiological and pathological conditions as well as to develop new therapeutic treatments.

Our reasearch focuses on the cellular response to different kind of DNA insults: 1) DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), one of the most citotoxic DNA lesion; 2) dysfunctional telomeres; 3) DNA-RNA hybrids. This seminar will give you an overview of our approaches and recent results.
