The green transition has become increasingly necessary in the last few years and its inclusion in the strategic PNRR to face the COVID-19 crisis can confirm it. FuturEnzyme is an innovative multi-disciplinary European project and consortium that aims to develop innovative enzymes for this purpose combining big biodata, machine learning, protein engineering, nano-biotechnology, pre-industrial testing and fermentation. The enzymes obtained will be used for the development of environmentally friendly products in the textiles, detergents and cosmetics markets, with a high sustainability during their production, use and discharge. The project involve scientists, students and stakeholders, forming a strong collaboration between industry and academia. Our PhD student Fabrizio Beltrametti will be an active part of this project, as he will handle the development of the enzymes and their tests on a pilot scale, and he will attend the kick-off meeting of the project. Congratulations Fabrizio and good luck!
