Seminar - Biotechnology and Biosciences - Thursday, 6 February, 2025, 4:30 pm, BIOS-U3 building, room U3-08
Jessica Frigerio, Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences, University of Milan-Bicocca
Abstract

Genetic methods for species identification have revolutionized fields like food traceability, invasive species and biodiversity research, with genetic data growing exponentially. Today, integrative approaches for species identification are necessary, with the main challenge lying in the management of these vast interdisciplinary datasets. Fast, efficient tools and FAIR data are essential. Integrative platforms combining genetic sequences, images, and big data are paving the way forward. This seminar dives into the evolution of species identification, showcasing cutting-edge tools, AI, machine learning, and next-gen platforms that will shape the future of genetic identification.
The seminar is OPEN to all.
