WNT Signaling is a driver or virtually all developmental processes and key oncogenic signal when aberrantly activated. While WNT pathway is typically represented as a linear series of events, there is an apparent paradox: cells that receive WNT signals can respond differently to it. We strive to understand how this happens. We show that different combinations of transcriptional regulators modulate the chromatin landscape in a developmental time-dependent manner to shape how cells respond to WNT. The importance of this goes beyond understanding development, as knowing gene regulation in WNT-driven cancers might provide future therapeutic avenues.
