Dendritic cells (DCs) are pivotal regulators of immune responses, orchestrating the delicate balance between immune activation and tolerance. This talk will explore the multifaceted roles of DCs as central architects of the immunological landscape—modulating immune reactivity during inflammation and tumor progression, while also promoting tolerance in contexts such as self-antigen recognition. Emphasis will be placed on our recent discoveries revealing how DC subsets, their metabolism, spatial distribution, and microenvironmental cues converge to influence their functional fate.
Understanding these mechanisms opens new avenues for targeted immunotherapies and strategies to induce immune tolerance.

Host: Francesco Peri
