Scientific interests
Diego Bonetti research activity explored several mechanisms involved in preserving genome stability in eukaryotic cells. To this purpose he took advantage of the widely used model system Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
His research topics so far can be divided into three main areas:
1. Telomere maintenance and protection
2. DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) repair
3. TERRA, the telomeric non-coding RNA
